A Day in the Life of a Preschooler
A day in the life of a preschool student is filled with fun, learning, and important routines that build a strong foundation for school success.
The day begins with a warm welcome and morning circle, setting a positive tone with PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) strategies that encourage being respectful, being responsible, and being safe.
Students participate in both small and large group instruction guided by the Ready to Advance curriculum, which supports early literacy, math, and social-emotional development through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities. The Heggerty phonological awareness lessons, coupled with Fundations, a multisensory structured literacy program, further supports strong foundational skills for the development of spoken and written language.
In large group time, children sing songs, listen to stories, and explore new concepts together, while small group sessions allow for more individualized learning based on each child’s needs. Throughout the day, play-based learning, structured routines, and positive reinforcement help preschoolers grow academically and socially in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
